Rotary Youth Leadership Award

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is a week-long residential personal development program for young people aged 18 to 26, which focuses on yourself, leadership and community. The program aims to:

  • Provide young people the opportunity to meet other young people in a supportive environment to gain a better understanding of their own strengths and the unique qualities and abilities of others
  • Provide an opportunity for young people to develop a network of resources to facilitate their roles and development
  • Facilitate learning about communication, motivation, individual and teamwork and to develop the leadership skills through experiential workshops
  • Create a greater awareness of social issues affecting young people and
  • Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to young people.

Every year Macarthur Sunrise sends a lucky young person to the RYLA camp for a week of adventure and excitement.

Everyone who has gone has told us that it was one of the best things they have ever done. You make new friends and you learn that you can do things that maybe you had never imagined you could do.

So if your are in the age range 18 to 26 and have been out of school for at least 2 years, and you have proven leadership potential, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) may be for you. It is usually held mid January,

What does it cost? It costs you NOTHING? How do you get there? We take you there and we bring you home at the end.
