RYLA
What is RYLA?
RYLA is an amazing leadership program for young adults aged between 19 and 25. The 6-day program typically has 75 participants and focuses on leadership, personal development, teamwork and community awareness. RYLA features presentations from many experts who generously donate their time and experience to further the development of young leaders. The program combines workshops and presentations to fully explore the fundamentals of effective leadership.
Why should I attend RYLA?
- Provide young people with the opportunity to meet other young people in a supportive environment to gain a better understanding of their own strengths and the unique qualities and abilities of others
- Provide an opportunity for young people to develop a network of resources to facilitate their roles and development
- Facilitate learning about communication, motivation, individual and teamwork and develop leadership skills through experiential workshops
- Create a greater awareness of social issues affecting young people and
- Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to young people.
Each year Macarthur Sunrise generously sponsors a young person to attend the RYLA program. This means there is no cost to you and we will transport you to and from the venue.
Everyone who has attended has reported back to us that it was one of the best things they have ever done. You make new friends and you learn that you can do things that maybe you had never imagined you could do.
So if you are in the age range 19 to 25 and have been out of school for at least 2 years, and you have proven leadership potential, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) may be for you. It is usually held at the beginning of January.
